چکیده
The Catania Research Group develops scientific researches mainly in Graph and Hypergraph Theory and Design Theory. These theories are of great interest not only for their contribution to Discrete Mathematics but also for their applications in Coding Theory, Statistics and Computer Science. The CRG participated in the international Panorama, not only for the developed researches (see the references), but also for the exciting and fruitful collaboration with many of the principal researchers in Combinatorics. Just to name some of them (in alphabetic order): Elizabeth Billington, Charles Colbourn, Stanley Fiorini, Frank Harary, Josef Lauri, Curt Lindner, Eric Mendelsohn, Chris Rodger, Alex Rosa, Hao Shen, Anne Penfold Street, Zsolt Tuza, Vitaly Voloshin, J. Voss. In the future Research Program, the CRG wishes to work on the following topics (presented in alphabetic order) which are mostly a continuation and a thorough analysis of the researches developed in these last years. Notice that these topics are not disconnected but it often happens that they overlap.

متن کاملPredicting Solubility of Isotactic Poly (1-Butene) in Different Organic Solvents by Modified UNIQUAC
The UNIQUAC activity coefficient model is extended to predict solid-liquid equilibrium of isotactic crystalline poly (1-butene), iPBu-1, in different organic solvents. The UNIQUAC activity coefficient model used in this work is based on the concept of group contribution and consists of combinatorial, residual and free volume terms. To account for branching of atom groups in the monomer structur...

Background: Combinatorial effects of aqueous root extract of Jatropha curcas (Jc) and J. gossypiifolia (Jg) in alloxan-induced diabetic rats was investigated in this research. Methods: Thirty-six wistar rats were randomized into six groups of six animals each. Group I (control) was not induced but received 0.5 ml of distilled water. Groups II, III, IV, V and VI were induced with diabetes mel...

Background One the main aspects of an in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle is to avoid any possible systemic damage to women undergoing to a controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH). The aim of this work is to evaluate renal and hepatic function blood tests in patients undergoing controlled ovarian hyperstimulation during IVF cycles. MaterialsAndMethods All patients received a long stimulation p...
متن کاملMale Equivalent Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome: Hormonal, Metabolic and Clinical Aspects
Recent studies identified the presence of a male polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), which mainly affects men whose female relatives are afflicted with PCOS, caused by genes responsible for the susceptibility of this syndrome in women. Similar hormonal, metabolic, and clinical alterations occurring in PCOS women have also been reported in their male relatives, suggesting a association between t...
